Youth Company Member Requirements:

All Ballet North company members must  be between "almost" 13 to 18 years of age, maintain a 3.5 GPA in school, and commit to making weekly Company rehearsals Saturdays from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm from September through June each year, in addition to any rehearsals that may also be required during weeknights.  Certain other requirements are discussed after a successful audition when contracts are signed each August.

Why join?

In order to gain the most development as a ballet dancer, extensive performance experience and technical coaching are required in addition to a thorough array of regular Technique and Pointe classes.  Membership in the Company will completely achieve this elevated level of work and allow members to realize their fullest potential in ballet, in addition to allowing members to experience what it is like to work in a professional setting where mastery of dances and working alongside professionals places a strong focus on timely results and reliability.  

2018-2019 Audition Details:

The audition is for new members to earn a youth performing position in the Ballet North Company. Eligible youth ballet dancers must be between 13-18 years of age, and be able to show at least 5.5 hours of ballet classes are taken weekly which must include 3 full Technique classes, for girls also at least one full Pointe Class weekly not including any other dance training being done, for boys also at least one Men's Class weekly. For girls, double pirouettes en pointe are part of the minimum requirement. Boys must be able to do double pirouettes and double tours en l’air in addition to basic pas de deux. Audition fee is $25.
